Tons Of Waste Rushed To Manila Bay Because Of ‘Lawin’

As Typhoon Lawin rushed for its landfall until it swayed along Northern Luzon, the waste also rushed to the coast of Manila Bay.

Tons of waste from all parts of Metro Manila rushed to the shore of Manila Bay in Manila City on Thursday morning, October 20.

The tons of waste which gathered along Manila Bay were believed to be brought by then super typhoon Lawin, which was later downgraded to a typhoon, and is now pounding in Northern Luzon.

Most of the garbage were plastic materials, mostly the plastic bags used to carry the products and goods bought from public markets.

The tons of waste materials were not collected by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) until Thursday noon because the garbage adds tons more every time waves brought by heavy rains and strong winds kiss the Manila Bay shore.

The flooding of waste materials in Manila Bay after storm has been a common scene especially if the weather disturbance embeds meters high waves.
