Sen. Tito Sotto Resigned as Senate Majority Leader

Controversial Senator, Sen. Tito Sotto made an announcement that he will resigned from his post as Senate Majority leader on Thursday, June 6, 2013. He was quoted as saying, “After I submit my accomplishment report, I will inform the Senate that I’m resigning as Majority Leader at the end of the 15th Congress,” Sotto told reporters before the session started at 4 p.m.

According to Sen. Sotto, he resigned because he was already tired with his post. His office will as Majority Leader will stay until June 30 but before the mentioned date, all his employees will resigned as well.

Sen. Sotto adds further that, “Mahirap. Napakahirap. I don’t think I can top the time, effort, blood sweat and tears that I put into the last three years. So let’s leave at that. Sabi nga nila, quit while you’re ahead,” he said.

The announcement of Sen. Tito Sotto, came just a day after Senator Juan Ponce-Enrile stepped down from his post on Wednesday. Meanwhile Senate President Pro Tempore Jose “Jinggoy” Estrada was already installed as acting Senate President immediately after Enrile’s resignation.
