The said series featuring Dennis Trillo, Julie Anne San Jose, and Barbie Forteza has been receiving positive feedback from viewers. Even celebrities have expressed that they love watching the series and commended the cast.

In a recent post that GMA Drama’s official Twitter Page shared, an intriguing possibility was raised. “YUNG ABANGAN?!?!?!?! LALAYAG NA BA ANG #KLAYBARRA?!?!! Thank you for watching #MariaClaraAtIbarra #MCIHopiangDiMabili with us, mga Kapuso!!!” the post stated.

In the series, the character of Crisostomo Ibarra is portrayed by Dennis and Maria Clara is Julie Anne. Klay or Maria Clara Infante is being played by Barbie. Because of that tweet, netizens expressed their fear that MCAI will become another “kabit serye” or series about mistresses.

In line with this, Suzette Doctoloro made clarifications. “This is a reimagined version. Tao si Klay, di bato, may isip siya, may puso. Siya ang bida ng kwentong ito, POV niya ang Mcai. May nakilala siyang isang lalaki na ideal. Bawal magka crush?? Magiging sila ba? Nag s** ba?? Kakapanood ninyo yan ng kabitan kaya praning. LOLS,” the writer said in her Twitter post.

With the nature of Ibarra’s character, Suzette said that cheating is not in his system.
