PAGASA Says Several Weather System to Affect PH Weather

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that several weather systems will bring cloudy skies and scattered rain showers over some parts of the country.

On Tuesday (February 8, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The northeast monsoon, easterlies and localized thunderstorms will affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that the Northeast Monsoon will bring affecting Luzon. The Amihan will bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Cagayan Valley, Aurora, Quezon, Caraga and Davao Region.

Partly cloudy to cloudy weather condition with isolated light rains are expected over Bicol Region, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Northern Samar.

The Easterlies / localized thunderstorms. Will bring similar weather condition over Visayas while the northeast monsoon will affect Occidental Mindoro and Palawan including Kalayaan Islands.

“Samantala, sa silangang bahagi naman ng Mindanao ay asahan din ang maulap na kalangitan na may kalat kalat na pag-ulan, pagkulog at pagkidlat dulot naman po ng easterlies,” Pagasa weather specialist Grace Castañeda said.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon as well as the rest of the country will experience the same weather condition.

The weather agency has also advised the public to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over the rest of Luzon, Visayas, and the northern and eastern sections of Mindanao will be moderate to rough. The rest of Mindanao will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions.
