PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Saturday (February 5)
The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the trough of a low-pressure area and amihan will bring rains over some parts of the country.
On Saturday (February 5, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The LPA and the northeast monsoon would affect the country’s weather condition.
PAGASA reported that the low-pressure area has been last spotted at 415 kilometers south-southwest of General Santos City, South Cotabato. The Trough of Low Pressure Area will be affecting Palawan and Mindanao. Northeast Monsoon would affect the rest of Luzon.
Cloudy weather condition with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms is expected over Bicol Region, Northern Samar, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Apayao, Batanes and Cagayan.
Visayas, Caraga, Bicol Region, MIMAROPA, and the provinces of Quezon, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi would experience similar weather condition.
The northeast monsoon will bring partly cloudy to cloudy condition with isolated light rains over the provinces of Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Aurora, Kalinga, Ifugao, Mt. Province, Abra, Benguet, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union and Pangasinan.
Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon as well as the rest of Mindanao will have the same weather condition.
“Samantala, ‘yung trough ng LPA ay nakakaapekto sa Palawan at Mindanao area kaya’t may mga ilang bahagi tayo na makakaranas ng makulimlim na panahon na may kalat-kalat na pag-ulan at pagkidlat, pagkulog,” Pagasa weather specialist Ezra Bulquerin said.
The weather agency has also advised the residents in the affected area to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and during severe thunderstorms.
The coastal water condition over Luzon, Visayas, and the northern and eastern sections of Mindanao will be moderate to rough. The rest of Mindanao will have slight to moderate surrounding sea condition.
