DOE Eyes Oil Price Rollback Next Week
FUEL PRICE UPDATE – Several gasoline stations in the country are set to impose an oil price rollback after weeks of increases.
After several weeks of fuel price increases, motorists may finally catch a break as pump prices are expected to go down next week.
Based on recent trading in the international oil market, industry estimates show that diesel could see a significant rollback of around P7.00 to P8.00 per liter. Gasoline prices may also decrease by about P0.50 to P1.00 per liter, while kerosene could drop by P5.00 to P6.00 per liter.

The expected reduction comes after global oil prices moved lower during the Sept. 21 to 25 trading period. Market conditions improved as concerns over supply eased and hopes grew for renewed diplomatic efforts involving the United States and Iran.
Oil industry officials said improving oil shipments from Saudi Arabia helped calm fears of shortages in the global market. The possible return of oil flows through the East-West Pipeline also contributed to the decline in crude prices.
Data from the international market showed notable decreases in refined petroleum products. Diesel posted a decline of about P7.50 per liter, gasoline dropped by around P1.50 per liter, and kerosene fell by approximately P6.00 per liter.

If current trends continue, the rollback could take effect on Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2026, following the usual announcement from oil companies on Monday.
The projected decrease would come as welcome news for motorists, especially after this week’s hefty increase of P7.80 per liter for diesel, P4.80 per liter for gasoline, and P6.40 per liter for kerosene.
For many consumers, the expected rollback could help ease transportation and fuel expenses in the days ahead.
