PAGASA Says Shear Line to Affect PH Weather Today (February 3)

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the shear line will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers over some parts of the country.

On Thursday (February 3, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The shear line will affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that the Shear Line will be affecting the eastern section of Southern Luzon. It would bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Bicol Region, Oriental Mindoro, Romblon, Marinduque, Aklan, northern Samar, eastern Samar, and Samar.

Davao Region, Caraga, and Sarangani will experience similar weather condition.

The easterlies or localized thunderstorms are expected to bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over the rest of Visayas, Occidental Mindoro, and Palawan including Kalayaan Islands.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country would have the same weather condition.

“‘Yung amihan ay hindi umaabot sa ating bansa pero inaasahan na bukas ay muling magbabalik at makaapekto sa ating bansa, at maaaring Luzon at Visayas ang maaapektuhan nito,” Pagasa weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said.

The weather agency also advised the public to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and during severe thunderstorms.

The coastal water condition over Luzon and the eastern sections of Visayas and Mindanao will be moderate to rough. The remaining parts of the country will have a slight to moderate surrounding sea condition.
