MMFF 2013 Starts, Proceeds will Benefit Yolanda Victims

The highly-anticipated Metro Manila Film Festival 2013 kicks off today, Christmas Day, December 25, 2013. The 29th edition of the MMFF will treat moviegoers to an all-Filipino film festival around Metro Manila.

MMFF 2013 Official Entries

Before the official start of the MMFF 2013 mainstream films, the entries to the other categories like the indie, student and animation categories were screened in selected cinemas in Metro Manila.

Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Chairman Francis Tolentino earnestly called on the public to give utmost support to the film festival as part of the proceeds will also benefit typhoon Yolanda victims. 

The eight official entries are: “Boy Golden” (starring Jeorge Estregan and KC Concepcion in the lead roles); “Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy” (Vice Ganda and Maricel Soriano); “Kaleidoscope World” (Sef Cadayona and Y(–foul word(s) removed–)i Pressman); “Kimmy Dora: Ang Kiyemeng Prequel” (Eugene Domingo and Sam Milby); “My Little Bossings” (Vic Sotto, Ryzza Mae Dizon and Bimby Aquino Yap Jr.); “Pagpag: Siyam Na Buhay” (Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo), “Pedro Calungsod: Batang Martir” (Rocco Nacino and  Christian Vasquez) and “10,000 Hours” (Robin Padilla and Mylene Dizon).

The lone horror-movie entry in the MMFF 2013, “Pagpag” was graded “B” by the Cinema Evaluation Board (CEB), and Rated PG by the Movie and Television Review and Cl(–foul word(s) removed–)ification Board (MTRCB). The movie “Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy” was rated PG by the MTRCB.
