Motorcycle Rider Shares Experience w/ Riding-in-Tandem in Marikina City
A motorcycle rider shared his frightening experience after becoming a victim of riding-in-tandem suspects who allegedly attempted to steal his motorcycle.
Recently, Pats Gregorio Tayag, a Facebook user, shared his terrifying experience with riding-in-tandem suspects in Marikina. The post quickly went viral and gained many reactions from the online community.
According to the rider, the incident happened around 1:20 in the morning while he was on his way home from work near the Twinville-Nawasa area in Nangka, Marikina. He noticed three motorcycles suddenly chasing him.
One of the motorcycles reportedly carried two men, while the others positioned themselves around him to block his path from the front, side, and back.
The suspects allegedly ordered him to get off his motorcycle and hand over his keys. One of the men reportedly grabbed his arm to stop him from escaping.
After a few moments, one of the riding-in-tandem suspects stepped down from the motorcycle and pointed a gun at his side while threatening to shoot him if he refused to cooperate.
Fortunately, a nearby elderly woman looked out from her window, causing a brief distraction. The rider used the opportunity to fight back by hitting the armed suspect with his helmet before running toward a nearby street for safety.
Although the suspects were unable to start the motorcycle because it was keyless, they still managed to open the compartment and take the victim’s bag containing his cellphone, wallet, ATM cards, credit cards, IDs, and other personal belongings.
The rider reminded the public to stay alert at all times, even in familiar places, because criminals can strike unexpectedly.

Ingat po kayo jan sa Twinville – Nawasa Nangka Marikina.
Around 1:20am pauwi ako ng work ng may mga humabol sakin na tatlong motor. Isa sa kanila riding in tandem. Hinarangan nila ako sa harap sa gilid at sa likod.
Sinabihan nila ako na bumaba at iabot ang susi sa kanila. Yung pangalawang motor hinablot ako sa braso para siguro hindi ko tangkain tumakas.
Bumaba yung riding in tandem and tinutukan ako ng baril sa tagiliran sabay sabi na papuputukan ako kapag hindi ko binigay ang susi o tangkain tumakas. Salamat sa lola na sumilip sa bintana at nadistract nya yung may baril at itinago ulit iyon.
Nag karoon ako ng pagkakataon na ihampas yung helmet ko sa lalaki na may baril at agad akong tumakbo papasok ng street ng block 2. Sa kabutihang palad dahil keyless ang motor ko at nakalayo ako hindi nila iyon na paandar, ngunit nabuksan nila ang compartment ng motor kung nasaan nakalagay yung bag ko na nag lalaman ng cellphone wallet atm credit card id at iba pa.
Kahit pala nasa lugar ka na ninyo kapag pag tatangkaan ka ng masama magagawa pala talaga nila.
Mag iingat po tayong lahat at maging alisto sa lahat ng oras.”
