Davao City Extends Liquor Ban & Curfew Policy Until May 31 to Prevent Spread of COVID-19
The local government unit of Davao City has extended the liquor ban in public places and curfew policy in the city until May 31, 2021.
Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte announced that the curfew policy and liquor ban in the town would be extended until May 31. The measure is based on the new executive, which has been released on Wednesday (March 24).
The new measure aims to reduce the further spread of the coronavirus disease. The modified general community quarantine even encouraged the people to gather.
“Based on our experience dati, when we removed that during MGCQ [modified general community quarantine], nag-encourage siya ng mga people na magtipon,” Duterte said.
The liquor ban and curfew were supposed to end on March 31, 2021 but Davao City government decided to extend the measure for the safety of Davaoeños. Night shift employees and entrepreneurs are exempted from the curfew policy.
According to the results, around 13,568 individuals have been infected by the coronavirus disease. 15 COVID-19 cases have been recorded on Wednesday. Davao LGU would continue to implement stricter measures amid the decreasing cases of COVID-19 infections.
