24-Hour Liquor Ban in Davao City Extended Until March 31, 2021
The local government unit of Davao City has extended the 24-hour liquor ban and curfew policy until March 31, 2021.
The Davao City would continue to implement the liquor ban and curfew policy in the area until the end of March based on Executive Order no. 5, Series of 2021. The liquor ban aims to prevent the further spread of the coronavirus disease.
Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio said that they need to control the spread of COVID-19 in the town because the COVID-19 beds at the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) are already fully occupied.
The town’s Vices Regulation Unit announced that they have already gathered around P8.5 milyon as penalty fee from the individuals who violated the liquor ban, sobriety ordinance, and anti-smoking ordinance of the year 2020.
Davao is one of the areas in the Philippines that have been placed under the general community quarantine until the end of February 2021.

Currently, the town as a total of 11,459 confirmed COVID-19 cases. The city has a total of 1,502 active cases.
