“NBI Agent” Arrested In Davao City After Caught Selling Firearms
DAVAO CITY – A man who introduced himself as an agent from the National Bureau of Investigation was arrested in Davao City.
The suspect, identified as Matias Relacion arrested in an entrapment operation that was conducted by operatives from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group and Talomo Police Station at Crocodile Park, Diversion Road in the city, according to a report from ABS-CBN News.
The police arrested Relacion, who introduced himself as an NBI agent, after he accepted the marked money from a poseur buyer. The suspect is not connected to the FBI, according to the police.
Retrieved from the suspect were a sub machine gun (SMG). a .38 caliber revolver, six NBI identification card, a wallet with an NBI badge, an NBI reflectorized vest, and some ammunition.
Relacion will be charged for violation of Republic Act 10591 or known as the Firearms and Ammunitions Law; and Article 177 of Revised Penal Code or Usurpation of Official Function, based on the report.
