Kapuso TV host Drew Arellano opened up about his emotional connection to Hong Kong after revisiting meaningful places for an episode of “Biyahe Ni Drew.” The host shared that every visit to the city brings back deep memories tied to his late father, making the trip both nostalgic and sentimental.
He explained that Hong Kong holds a special place in his heart because it was where his father’s ashes were scattered in Sai Kung, a scenic area known as the “Back Garden” of Hong Kong. The episode also featured the show’s exploration of seafood cuisine, water sports, and hiking activities in Sai Kung, showcasing its natural beauty alongside Drew’s personal reflections.

In an interview featured on GMA, Drew Arellano expressed that he feels “NOSTALGIC” and “sentimental” when he goes to Hong Kong.
“Hindi dito namatay ‘yung dad ko 13 years ago, pero dito namin dinala ‘yung ashes niya at itinapon namin dito sa Sai Kung (bay),” he said
“Ang Hong Kong generally very nostalgic to me, dahil once upon a time noong buhay pa ‘yung tatay ko, siya ‘yung abogado ng maraming OFWs,” said Drew
“Kasi ito talaga (Hong Kong) ang naging second home niya.”
“Para linawin lang natin, hindi basta-basta dadalhin ‘yung ashes ng mahal mo sa buhay at ito-throw mo sa dagat.
“We had to go through the proper channels and proper government agencies to secure permits,” he said.
