4 Violators Apprehended During the Anti-Littering Operation of MMDA
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority conducts an anti-littering operation in Quezon City and at least four violators have been apprehended.
The Facebook page “Gadget Addict” has shared the photos of several MMDA personnel conducting a. Anti-Littering Operation at EDSA Balintawak, Quezon City. The post goes viral and elicits comments from the online community.
In the photos, it can be seen that the MMDA employees are strictly implementing the rules and regulations along the streets to reduce the worsening waste pollution in the country. They aim to maintain the cleanliness along the streets of Metro Manila.
MMDA is already hiring and training additional anti-littering enforcers to keep the streets clean from garbage. Violators would face corresponding sanctions and penalties such as paying P500 fine or to face 8 hours of community service.
Aside from apprehending violators, the agency is also distributing leaflets to the public. The leaflets aim to teach the people regarding the proper waste disposal. The operation has been conducted last Monday (February 15, 2021).
The enforcers caught at least four individuals who committed littering violation.

The agency’s action could help reduce the worsening waste pollution in the Philippines, which does not only affect the environment but also causes a negative impact to the body’s health.
