MMDA Chairman Danilo Lim Dies at 65 After He Tested Positive for COVID-19 Last Week

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Chairman Danilo Lim has already passed away at the age of 65.

On Wednesday (January 6, 2021), the Malacañang Palace announced that MMDA executive Danilo Lim has died. Lim passed away after announced that he tested positive for COVID-19 last December 29, 2020.

Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque has expressed the condolences of the Palace towards the family of the former government official. However, he did not give further information regarding Lim’s cause of death.

“The Palace expresses its deep condolences to the family, loved ones and colleagues of Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Chairman Danilo Lim who died before 8AM this morning at the age of 65,” Roque said.

Roque said that Lim served the government with professionalism, competence and integrity. The Palace official revealed that Lim passed away before 8:00 am this morning. The ex-MMDA head had experienced mild symptoms of the coronavirus disease.

MMDA’s Edsa traffic chief Edison “Bong” Nebrija has also expressed his condolences towards Lim’s family and bid farewell to his friend.
