Riding-in-Tandem Steals Motorcycle w/ Anti-Theft Feature in Rizal
A motorcycle equipped with an anti-theft feature was stolen by two suspects riding together in Rodriguez, Rizal.
On June 28, 2026, a motorcycle parked in front of a samgyupsal restaurant in Barangay San Isidro was stolen, proving that even vehicles with added security measures can still become targets of theft.
According to authorities, the motorcycle owner had parked the vehicle before going inside to eat, believing it was secure because the handlebar was locked and the key had an anti-theft system.
However, CCTV footage later showed two suspects, both heavily covered to conceal their identities, approaching the parked motorcycle at around 9 p.m. After waiting for the right opportunity, one of them began tampering with the vehicle while the other stood nearby.
After a few moments, the pair managed to take the motorcycle and quickly fled the area.
The suspects were last seen on camera heading toward San Mateo, Rizal. Authorities are now reviewing additional CCTV footage from nearby establishments and roads in an effort to identify the suspects and determine the motorcycle used during the theft.
The victim, Armando Hugo, was shocked when he returned and discovered that his motorcycle was gone. He said he never expected the vehicle to be stolen because of its security features.
In the video, he believes the suspects may have pushed the motorcycle away after it briefly started and then stalled while they were trying to operate it.
After discovering the theft, the victim immediately sought assistance from the police. He also appealed for the return of his motorcycle and expressed hope that those responsible would stop committing crimes.
Local officials revealed that the incident is already the sixth reported motorcycle theft in the area this month. Authorities suspect that the crimes may have been carried out by individuals from outside the community.
The Rodriguez Police continue to conduct follow-up operations as they work to identify and locate the suspects. Residents are also being encouraged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to authorities.
