UP Proposes Suspension of Class To Last Until December, Pres. Duterte Studying Proposal Amid Crisis
DUTERTE – Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte is studying the proposal of the University of the Philippines (UP) to suspend the classes until December.
Currently, the President of the Republic of the Philippines is on a huge challenge – to make very careful decisions as one wrong move can make things worst in the country. It is over the pursuit to contain the spread of COVID-19.
According to the Department of Health (DOH), there is now a total of 6,710 cases of coronavirus confirmed in the Philippines. 446 of these patients died while 693 have survived the battle.
Luzon and most parts of Visayas and Mindanao are on an Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) now. The national and local governments are implementing measures to limit the movements of the people to contain the spread of the disease.
Classes are also suspended amid the COVID-19 crisis. Currently, many teachers, parents, and students are eager to know on when the classes will resume to be prepared for it.
Usually, June is the start of the classes in the Philippines. There are possibilities that it will be moved to August this year due to the COVID-19 crisis. On the part of the University of the Philippines (UP), it is proposing that the class suspension must be implemented until December.
Based on a post of Inquirer, Pres. Duterte is now studying the proposal of UP to suspend classes until December. The Chief Executive is expected to make decisions this week or before the end of this month.
