Two of the players from LA Lakers tested positive for COVID-19.
LA LAKERS – Two (2) of the fourteen (14) players of NBA team Los Angeles Lakers have tested positive for the pandemic Coronavirus Disease 2019.
On Thursday (Friday in Manila time), the Los Angeles Lakers announced that two of their players have tested positive for Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). However, the team decided not to disclose the two infected players.
All of their players underwent test to determine if they have the virus on Wednesday after four Brooklyn Nets players, including star Kevin Durant have tested positive. To recall, before the NBA season faced suspension, Lakers hosted Nets at Staples Center last March 10.
In a statement, they indicated according to LA Times:
“We learned today that two Lakers players have tested positive. Both players are currently asymptomatic, in quarantine and under the care of the team’s physician. All players and members of the Lakers staff are being asked to continue to observe self-quarantine and shelter at home guidelines, closely monitor their health, consult with their personal physicians and maintain constant communication with the team.”
Among the NBA players who have been publicized to be infected of the highly contagious virus are Utah’s Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell and Detroit’s Christian Wood and Kevin Durant. Truly, the virus continues to spread in a very terrifying pace.
Among the recent batch of NBA players who tested positive are three confirmed cases from Philadelphia 76ers and one positive case from Denver Nuggets. As of posting, from the six different teams of NBA, there’s total of 13 confirmed coronavirus cases.
