Baguio Water Crisis Currently Being Experienced by Residents
BAGUIO WATER CRISIS – The residents in Baguio are currently struggling over the limited water supply in the place.
One of the struggles faced by Luzon in early 2019 is the shortage of water supply. It has affected some parts of Metro Manila for days which led to President Rodrigo Roa Duterte calling for a meeting.
The 74-year-old President met with the officials of the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS) and the other responsible offices like Manila Water.
The officials were warned by Pres. Duterte to shape up or leave their posts. The MWSS has already posted a penalty to Manila Water, one of the agent water service provider in PH.
Aside from Metro Manila, another place in Luzon experiences water shortage – Baguio.
Based on a recent news report on ABS-CBN News, the Baguio water crisis continues to post struggle to the residents. Some even had to buy mineral water to be used in taking a bath.
According to the report, the Baguio Water District has scheduled the water supply to the residents but it is not enough. A lot of residents are depending on the water refilling stations but their supply are also not enough.
Also, the residents have to order for water from the private refilling stations three(3) to four(4) days before they would get the supply.
The water shortage is not unusual in Baguio most especially during the summer season based on the report.
The water suppliers think the shortage may be due to the increasing population in Baguio, the number of tourists visiting the place, and the decreasing of the supply in the water reservoir.
With regards to the Baguio water crisis now, the Water District has yet to give a statement.
We’ll keep you posted for updates.
