Piolo Pascual speaks about the resignation of Marawi film director
Kapamilya A-list actor Piolo Pascual breaks his silence on issue regarding the resignation of Marawi film director Sheron Dayoc.
The filmmaker from Mindanao explained in a previous article that the reason of his resignation is the creative differences between him and the producers of the film.
He also said that the film is “sensitive subject matter and the story must be treated with prudence in respect to all the lives lost during the war in Marawi.”
Though this decision surprised many people, especially those who are involve in the production, Dayoc still went on to stand by his decision.
In line with this, Piolo Pascual expressed his side of the story.
The lead actor, who happens to be a producer also, confirmed that the decision of Dayoc was indeed rooted from difference in perspective.
Piolo also said that since the director has already resigned all they need to do now is to focus on the film.
He added that that they need to find better ways in order to create an artistic and informative film.
“We’ve known it. There were creative differences. It’s sad of course. But what can we do? We cannot focus on that. We have to focus on the film,” Piolo said, based on KAMI.
Behind this major problem in making a movie, the A-list actor stressed out that more important matters need their attention.
He is talking about the technical aspect of the film such as the script, shoot locations and stuff like that.
“Schedules, script and all, logistics. We were not allowed to shoot for a month because there were still IEDs that were undiscovered… we were advised by the AFP not to shoot. So, we had to wait,” he shared.
Piolo Pascual also confirmed that Direk Joyce Bernal is taking over the movie.
