Director Sheron Dayoc Reveals Reason Why He Resigned From Marawi Movie

MARAWI MOVIE – Director Sheron Dayoc revealed the reason why he resigned from the Marawi movie.

A movie reflecting the war that happened in Marawi is set to be made. Among the celebrities who are spearheading the said project are Robin Padilla and Piolo Pascual. Director Sheron Dayoc was set to direct the movie.

The war cost many lives. It has taken away the homes and livelihood of many Muslim families. Until now, not all the victims of the unfortunate incident have recovered from what happened.

Undeniably, lots of people are waiting for the Marawi movie which would be a significant film in the history of the Philippines. However, recently, Director Sheron Dayoc resigned from making the project.

Sheron Dayoc is a Mindanoan filmmaker. He is also a visual artist and he finished college with a degree in AB Philosophy. Visibly, he loves telling stories about the Muslim people and Mindanao.

The resignation of the filmmaker from the Marawi movie project surprised many people. On his Facebook account, he posted a lengthy message explaining the reason behind his move to resign from the project.

According to Director Sheron Dayoc, the project is named “Children of the Lake” and it would be produced by Spring Films. He stressed that it is not anymore reflective of his beliefs about Mindanao.

Based on his social media post, Dayoc and the producers got different perspectives with regards to how the Marawi story would be presented.

He stressed that it is a “sensitive subject matter” and it should be treated carefully with respect to those who died during the incident. Here is the full post of the supposed director of Marawi movie:
