‘Alaala’ episode starring Alden Richards won an international award.
ALDEN RICHARDS – ‘Alaala: A Martial Law Special’ which starred Alden Richards won the Gold Camera in the Docudrama category at the 50th US International Film & Video Festival.
‘Alaala: A Martial Law Special’ has been the talk of everyone when aired last September 2017 in GMA network which starred Alden Richards, Rocco Nacino, Bianca Umali, and among others.
The show has touched a string of emotion of everyone in reminiscing those times during the Martial Law under late President Ferdinand Marcos.
The show revolved around the story of Bonifacio Ilagan (Alden Richards) who is a former student activist, detainee, and survivor of human rights abuses during the Martial Law era.
It showed how he was captured and tortured, and how his sister Lina (played by Bianca Umali) became one of more than 800 desaparecidos who was never found again.
The story is based on real experiences of Martial Law survivor Boni Ilagan.
To recall, Last April 2018, Alden, the lead star of the said show, received an award in Las Vegas, Nevada, on behalf of the production team after bagging the Silver Medal at New York Festival Awards.
“Alaala: A Martial Law Special wins the Gold Camera in the Docudrama category at the 50th US International Film & Video Festival. Congratulations, to everyone behind Alaala,” an Instagram post from Artist Center has stated.

Indeed, all the actors and the people behind the show are so proud and really deserving of the award for showcasing this dark side in the Philippine history.
