Bea Binene and Wilbert Ross To Lead “Pee Mak” PH Adaptation

Viva confirms that Bea Binene and Wilbert Ross will star in “Pee Mak” PH.

“Pee Mak,” the record-breaking Thai blockbuster film, will have a Philippine adaptation, starring Bea Binene and Wilbert Ross.

Last year, it was reported that Alden Richards and Julia Barretto would be starring in the PH adaptation of “Pee Mak,” the 2013 Thai blockbuster record-breaking film. In the original film, Mario Maurer was in the lead, and this film further cemented his celebrity status.

Released in 2013, Pee Mak is a Thai film that combines supernatural, horror, comedy, and romance genres. Starring Mario Maurer and Davika Hoorne, this became a massive box-office hit and was once Thailand’s highest-grossing film.

The story follows Mak, who returns home from war to his wife, Nak, along with his four comrades. However, as they reunite, strange and unsettling events begin to occur, turning their lives into something eerie and mysterious. At its core, the film highlights the strength of love and the lengths one is willing to go for it, telling a truly unforgettable love story.

Just recently, it appears some changes were made, as Studio Viva PH has announced that breakout love team Bea Binene and Wilbert Ross will be starring as leads of the film’s PH adaptation. Collectively called “WilBea,” this is going to be their first film project together.

No further details were provided, but it was confirmed to be out in cinemas soon.

Wilbert and Bea drew praise for their chemistry in Golden Scenery of Tomorrow, where they recently portrayed Arkin and Via. Their characters are part of the University series, and the strong audience response to their pairing led to an extension of their storyline, bringing the total to 22 episodes.

Following this success is their first movie together.
