PAGASA Says Amihan and Shear Line to Affect PH Weather Condition
PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that amihan and shear line will bring rains over parts of the country.
On Saturday (March 1, 2025), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The northeast monsoon and shear line will bring rains over parts of the country.
PAGASA weather specialist Grace Castañeda reported that cloudy skies with isolated rains would prevail over part of the country.

The shear line will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms over Eastern Visayas, Caraga, and the Davao Region.
“Ngayong umaga, yung mga pag-ulan na mararanasan natin dito sa ilang bahagi ng Eastern Visayas ay posible maging katamtaman hanggang sa kung minsan ay malalakas na pag-ulan,” Castañeda said.
The northeast monsoon will bring cloudy skies with light rains over Cagayan Valley, Aurora, and Quezon.

Amihan will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.
“Ine-expect natin na magiging malamig ang panahon sa madaling araw at sa gabi. Ngunit dito sa Metro Manila, maging sa karatig na lugar na ito, pagsapit ng tanghali ay medyo mainit na ang panahon na ating mararanasan,” Castañeda explained.
The localized thunderstorms will bring similar weather conditions that are expected over the remaining parts of the country.
The weather agency has advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to, at times heavy rains.
Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over east of Visayas and Mindanao will be moderate to rough. The rest of Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions, according to PAGASA.
