Janine Gutierrez admitted that it was challenging for her to do “kontrabida” role
Kapamilya actress Janine Gutierrez said that she does not want to do another antagonist role after her challenging role in Lavender Fields.
Janine was able to shine outside the shadows of her father Monching Gutierrez and mother Lotlot de Leon in showbiz. She proved that she is more than just a “nepo baby” because of the acting projects she did which proved her ability to portray different roles.
Her recent project is the Kapamilya primetime series which also features Jericho Rosales and Jodi Sta Maria. In this series, for a change, Janine is the “kontrabida.”
In a recent interview, based on the article in Bandera, Janine Gutierrez expressed that if given a choice, she would not want another antagonist role in her future projects. βAyoko na. Ang sakit-sakit po talaga sa ulo. Parang umaakyat lahat ng galit sa ulo ko kapag umuuwi ako,β the actress said.
The actress, on the other hand, said that she would appreciate it if people would say to her that she is good as a “kontrabida” even though she was scolded during their first days of shoot.
Janine admitted that the role of an antagonist is really challenging. This is the reason why she salutes all the “kontrabidas” of the Philippines. For her, it is difficult to portray a role that must be hated by everyone but she stressed that the actions of antagonists have reasons.
The actress also shared that in order to detach from his character Iris, she decided to cut her hair. βNuβng na-pack up kami, siguro mga three days na parang sobrang nalulungkot ako. Sabi ko, ano ba nangyayari sa akin? Na kay Iris pa din ako,” she shared.
Janine said that she felt bad for her character because she understood why she acted a certain way. She needed to understand her character and for her, Iris was right. Now that Lavender Fields is about to end, Janine Gutierrez said that she is binge-watching the previous episodes to catch. They are also excited to see the final output.
