Statement of Malacañang on Marcos Jr. amid 2028 Election Talks
MARCOS JR. – The Philippine President refuses to talk about his presidential bet in 2028 as per the Palace.
Since Vice Pres. Sara Duterte announced that she is running for president in the 2028 Election, the talks about the next national poll became louder. There are even talks as to who might be the best match against the Vice President.

It is no secret to the Filipino people that the Duterte holds a strong support in the ground. Undeniably, many people believe that it is supposedly former vice president and now Naga Mayor Leni Robredo who can be the best rival of Duterte in the presidential election.
A survey result even showed that the gap between Vice Pres. Sara Duterte and Naga Mayor Leni Robredo has tightened. The result came before the former vice president and now Naga Mayor announced her decision for the next presidential race.

Naga Mayor Leni Robredo announced that she will not run for president in the 2028 Elections. According to the former Vice President, her horizon is far from the national election now.
“Sigurado na ako sa sarili ko na hindi ako magna-national,” Robredo said.
The statement of Robredo came after former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV, a staunch critic of the Dutertes, urged her to confirm her decision regarding the 2028 Elections. Recently, the Palace also spoke on the stand of Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Jr. regarding the next presidential race.

Based on News5, Malacañang press officer undersecretary Claire Castro said Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Jr. believes that it is still too early to talk about who will run for president in the 2028 Elections and who he will support. According to her, politics is not the focus of the President.

“Hindi po focus ng Pangulo ang politika sa ngayon. Trabaho muna,” the Palace official said of Marcos Jr. based on the post.
Following the announcement of her decision not to run for president in the next national elections, former Vice President and now Naga Mayor Leni Robredo also named the potential leaders for her.
