GCash Now Lets Users Request Birth & Marriage Certificates in Just a Few Taps

No More Long Lines as GCash Brings PSA Documents Straight to Your Phone

GCASH – Filipinos can now skip the long queues as GCash introduces a faster way to request official PSA documents directly through the app.

GCash users can now conveniently request official civil registry documents directly from their mobile phones, following a new partnership between the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) and the Ayala-led fintech platform.

In an announcement on Wednesday, officials confirmed that the PSA has teamed up with GCash and service provider Pilipinas Teleserv to bring civil registry services closer to Filipinos through digital means. This collaboration introduces the PSAHelpline Mini App within the GCash platform, allowing users to request key documents without needing to visit physical PSA outlets.

Through the integration, individuals may apply for birth, marriage, and death certificates, as well as CENOMAR and CENODEATH documents, using their smartphones. The feature is available via the GLife section of the GCash app, making the process more accessible for millions of users nationwide.

With this rollout, GCash becomes the first e-wallet in the Philippines to host the PSAHelpline service. It is also the first to provide PDF copies of civil registry certificates directly within its interface, marking a significant step forward in the digitalization of public services.

PSA National Statistician and Undersecretary Claire Dennis Mapa highlighted the importance of the initiative. “The PSA Helpline Mini App within the GCash app simplifies how Filipinos request civil registry documents by integrating secure requests and payments into a trusted digital platform. This partnership reflects our vision of a citizen-centered and digitally enabled government that delivers faster, more convenient public service to every Filipino wherever they may be,” she said.

GCash also emphasized the broader impact of the move. “By making essential civil registry documents easier to access, we are helping more Filipinos participate in the digital economy and access the opportunities they deserve,” said Cleo Celeste Santos, VP and Head of Public Sector at GCash.

The digital transition is designed to remove common obstacles, especially for those living in far-flung areas, by offering a smoother process from application and payment to delivery.

To ensure safety and data protection, the system relies on GCash’s identity verification measures. “GCash has a robust KYC process, which PSAHelpline will fully leverage to ensure that only document owners and properly authorized requesters can apply for PSA certificates,” said Pilipinas Teleserv Managing Director and Founder Jun Yupitun.
