Delivery Driver Speaks Out After Alleged Bribe Attempt by Traffic Enforcer

Delivery Driver Slams Traffic Enforcer for Demanding Money From Him

A delivery driver expressed his frustration against a traffic enforcer who was reportedly demanding money from him because of an alleged traffic violation.

Recently, SkilledArugula5336, a Facebook user, posted a photo of the traffic enforcer who allegedly extorted money from him over the supposed violation. The post quickly went viral and received various reactions online.

According to him, he was unfamiliar along Recto Avenue in Manila and was only driving there for the second time. While attempting a U-turn near a store, he failed to notice a low traffic light because a truck was blocking his view.

The driver unknowingly made the turn while the light was already red, though he said he stopped right away.

The enforcer then signaled him to move forward, which he followed. Afterward, the enforcer allegedly hinted that he wanted money to settle the issue. The driver said he tried to explain that he had very little cash and was only using a vehicle that did not belong to him.

However, the enforcer reportedly kept pushing and even threatened to add more serious violations like reckless driving.

The delivery driver claimed the enforcer rejected smaller amounts and demanded a higher payment, saying the violation was serious and costly. Feeling pressured and unable to pay, the driver decided to accept a ticket instead.

The employer also shared that he did not have a dashcam, which he believes made him more vulnerable. He noticed that the enforcer seemed to check first if a driver had a camera before acting.

The post ended with the driver expressing fear and sadness over how hard it has become to drive in Manila. He shared how difficult it is to earn a living, especially for delivery workers, and how painful it feels to be treated unfairly despite trying to follow the rules.

The social media users expressed their reactions to the post:
