Sorsogon DepEd reacted to this viral statement of Vice Ganda
Unkabogable Star Vice Ganda commented that there was a “bulok” classroom in a school in Sorsogon, but this was refuted by the province’s Department of Education (DepEd).
The comedian-host had this remark during an episode of his noontime show, It’s Showtime. He said that the situation in a school in the province of Kapuso Star, Heart Evangelista was pitiful.
Fans of the actress-fashion icon did not like how Vice dragged Heart’s name into the corruption issue that he was pointing out. The comedian-host also shared that he donated to that school.

Following the criticism that was directed at Heart Evangelista and her husband, Senator Chiz Escudero, who also served as governor of Sorsogon in the past, the local government unit of Bulusan, Sorsogon, released a statement.
The school administration cleared Heart’s name and highlighted the amount that Vice donated to the school and where it was spent.
In a recent post from Fact-Check PH and Assortedge on Instagram, the statements from Sorsogon DepEd and from the school’s teacher were highlighted.
“The Department of Education (DepEd) Sorsogon refuted claims that a classroom was built in the province due to a supposed lack of educational facilities and materials,” the statement stressed.
It also stressed that there was no classroom shortage or textbooks, and that the classroom project was already underway even before the donation was given. The Sorsogon DepEd said that there are sufficient learning materials and literacy projects in the province.
Teacher Noel Bylon of Bagacay Elementary School reiterated that there was no “bulok” classroom. “Mayroon na po talaga kaming classroom na pinagawa at nag-ambag na lang po si Vice Ganda, at nagpapasalamat po kami,” the teacher said.
Schools Division Superintendent DepEd Sorsogon Jose Doncillo stressed that the education department in the province has projects to augment the needs for classrooms. He also said that they are thankful for the help extended to the school.
