PAGASA Says Severe Tropical Storm Paolo to Affect PH Weather Condition
PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that Severe Tropical Storm Paolo has left the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
On Saturday (October 4, 2025), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. Severe Tropical Storm Paolo will affect the country’s weather condition.
PAGASA weather specialist Grace Castañeda reported that Paolo was last spotted 295 kilometers west of Sinait, Ilocos Sur, packing maximum sustained winds of 110 kilometers per hour and gustiness of 135 kph.

Paolo’s trough will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, the Cordillera Administrative Region, Central Luzon, Cavite, Batangas, and Occidental Mindoro.
The remaining parts of the country will experience localized thunderstorms.
“Paolo will continue moving west northwestward towards southern China. While moving over the West Philippine Sea, Paolo will re-intensify into a typhoon this morning or afternoon,” Castañeda said.

Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 was still up in the following areas:
- the western portion of Abra
- the western portion of Benguet
- the southern portion of Ilocos Norte
- Ilocos Sur
- La Union
- the western and central portions of Pangasinan
- the northern portion of Zambales
“Most likely this afternoon, the effects of severe tropical storm Paolo will no longer be felt in any part of the country,” Castañeda explained.
However, a new low-pressure area outside spotted PAR has a medium chance of developing into a tropical depression. It may become a tropical depression on Sunday (October 5, 2025).
“However, if the conditions or environment for the LPA become more favorable, we do not rule out the possibility that it could develop into a tropical depression within the day,” she added.
The weather agency advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over northern and western sections of Northern Luzon will be moderate to rough. The rest of the country will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions, according to PAGASA.
