Viral Female Protester Speaks Up After Being Bashed For Her Dark Underarms
The viral female protester hit back at body-shamers after being mocked during a rally at Luneta Park for her dark underarms.
Previously, Nathalie Julia Geralde, a young rallyist became the center of online talks after her photo at a rally in Luneta Park because of her dark underarms. Instead of staying silent, Nathalie fought back against body-shaming.
Recently, Geralde explained that there is nothing shameful about a body that stands up for justice. For her, hair or discoloration in the underarms is nothing compared to the country’s bigger struggles, such as corruption and inequality.

During the rally, she and her group used their performance to call for accountability from leaders and to highlight the ongoing oppression under the current administration. They even performed a protest jingle to urge people to wake up and take action.
Nathalie admitted that she never thought about her underarms during the event, because her focus was on the bigger fight for justice. She pointed out that body-shaming stems from unrealistic beauty standards shaped by a patriarchal and colonial past.
Geralde reminded everyone that a woman’s body belongs to her alone, and it should never be treated as a product for whitening ads or a target for ridicule. For Nathalie, true beauty is not limited to physical looks but also found in courage, intelligence, and the ability to fight for what is right.

The female protester also thanked those who supported her and defended her against the bashers. She said what truly deserves attention are corrupt officials who misuse public funds while ordinary people suffer.
As another storm once again flooded the streets, she compared it to the flood of support she received, encouraging everyone to continue demanding justice for the Filipino people.
