Sara Duterte Laments Not Being Included in Big Decisions over PH: “Isinasantabi nila ‘yung isang tao na gusto lang magtrabaho”

Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Speaks September 21 Public Protest Actions vs. Corruption

SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President lamented not being included in the big decisions concerning the Philippines citing she just wants to work.

The country is currently dealing with massive corruption issues that dragged the name of several government officials including senators and congressmen. This happened amid the Senate and the House of Representatives conduct their own hearings to the flood control mess.

Sarah and Curlee Discaya

The controversial contractor couple, Pacifico and Sarah Discaya, claimed that former House Speaker and Leyte Representative Martin Romualdez, Ako Bicol Partylist Rep. Zaldy Co, Pasig Cong. Roman Romulo, Marikina Cong. Marcelino Teodoro, and Quezon City Cong. Arjo Atayde allegedly receive kickback from government flood control deals. They also named several officials of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) under the same accusation.

Presidential cousin and Leyte Rep. Martin Romualdez resigned from being the House speaker amid the accusation of flood control corruption against him. According to the Congressman, he wants the Independent Commission on Infrastructure to fully and freely exercise their mandate to investigate the issue.

Martin Romualdez

Pres. Bongbong Marcos ordered the creation of the Independent Commission on Infrastructure or the ICI to probe the infra projects of the government. However, amid the creation of the ICI and Marcos Jr. claiming that even Romualdez and his allies will not be spared from the flood control probe, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte has doubts on the sincerity of the administration in the investigation.

Amid her doubts, the Vice President asked why the Marcos Jr. administration did not force Ako Bicol Partylist Rep. Zaldy Co to return to the Philippines. She also asked why Leyte Rep. Martin Romualdez is not detained at the House of Representatives.

Recently, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte also aired her side on the upcoming protest actions against corruption on September 21. Based on a report on GMA News, the Vice President claimed that she is not aware about the “Trillion Peso March” in EDSA which is expected to gather around 30,000 people.

According to Vice Pres. Duterte, if there is only one voice like hers, the government might not listen as it may be tagged as just politics. She hopes that the government will listen to the voice of the people who are not in the position.

Based on the report, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte also lamented not being included in the big decisions about the Philippines. She stressed that she just wants to work.

“Nasasayangan ako. Nasasayangan ako para sa bayan dahil isinasantabi nila ‘yung isang tao na gusto lang magtrabaho,” the Vice President said.

Amid the upcoming public protest actions, former Ilocos Sur Governor Chavit Singson urged the students to boycott their classes until all the corrupt officials of the government resign.

  1. . . . 1987 constitution was the product of an isolated action, what the Philippines have then is much of a better in contention; a nationwide collective worthy for action, a federal presidential system on a 1935 constitution-jao
