Is it true that Martin Romualdez owns several houses in this high-end residential area?
Leyte Representative Martin Romualdez has relinquished his speakership, and this is the rumor currently circulating about him.
Forbes Park is a renowned home of the Philippines’ plushest families and well-known public figures and personalities. Simply speaking, this is a residential community where most of the richest Filipinos live, and owning 12 houses in this high-end place is definitely mind-blowing.

According to rumors, Leyte 1st District congressman Martin Romualdez owns 12 houses in Forbes; however, others claim that his 12 houses are scattered in Forbes Park, Dasma Village, and McKinley – all of which are high-end and exclusive subdivisions.
However, there is no confirmation yet on these claims, but despite this, people were abuzz online over these mind-blowing rumors. This has surfaced amid the ongoing investigation into the anomalies and corruption in government flood control projects, and after he relinquished his speakership.

Based on a previous article, Romualdez resigned as House Speaker. It was a decision he said he made “after deep reflection and prayer” and “with a full heart and a clear conscience.”
“The issues surrounding certain infrastructure projects have raised questions that weigh not only upon me, but upon this institution we all serve,” Romualdez said.
Isabela 6th District Representative Faustino “Bojie” Dy III was the only nominee for the post, and as expected, he was elected as the new speaker. A total of 253 House members voted for Dy, while 28 abstained, and 4 did not cast a vote.
It may be recalled that Romualdez, along with his close ally and former appropriations chairperson Zaldy Co, has faced criticisms because of the controversial 2025 General Appropriations Act. Opponents and budget watchdogs have described this as mishandled and among the most corrupt spending bills ever enacted.
