Kitty Duterte Visits Dad Rodrigo Duterte Inside ICC Detention Facility

RODRIGO DUTERTE – Kitty Duterte shared that their father is very happy over the Supreme Court ruling on Vice President Sara Duterte’s impeachment case.

The Duterte family members are taking turns in visiting the former Chief Executive who is detained under the custody of the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague, Netherlands for around five (5) months now. Currently, it is her youngest daughter, Kitty Duterte’s turn, to visit their father.

Kitty Duterte confirmed that former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte was sent to the hospital but clarified that it was part of his routine check-up considering his age. The 80-year-old former Chief Executive is faced with an allegation of crimes against humanity before the ICC over the war on drugs of his administration.

According to Kitty, former Pres. Duterte is healthier than she expected. She admitted that she was worried when she was in the Philippines and kept asking her siblings and her father’s lawyers about him.

Kitty Duterte also confirmed that former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte was already told about the ruling of the Supreme Court on the impeachment case against her sister, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. The Supreme Court declared the impeachment complaint against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte “unconstitutional” for not following the one-year rule ban.

Based on a post on social media, Kitty Duterte shared that former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte is “very happy” over the Supreme Court ruling on the impeachment complaint against her sister. According to her, their father has sent his regards and is very proud of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte.

“He’s very happy about it. He sends his regards to my sister and he told her that he is extremely proud of her,” Kitty said based on the post.

The Supreme Court justices had a unanimous ruling over the impeachment complaint against the Vice President. The decision was immediately executory but motions for reconsideration may be filed. Several MRs including the one from the House of Representatives were filed.

After the SC ruling, Senate Minority Leader Tito Sotto could only wish for “God to have mercy” on the Senate archiving the impeachment complaint against Duterte. Nineteen (19) senators voted in favor of archiving the impeachment case.

Following the Senate and the Supreme Court ruling on the impeachment case, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte claimed that she explains on the allegations of misused confidential funds in the “proper forum”.
