Press Officer of Malacañang Reacts To “Spare Tire” Remarks of OVP Spox
Malacañang claimed that the office of President Bongbong Marcos is open for suggestions from the office of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte.
The ongoing rift between Pres. Marcos and Vice Pres. Duterte is not a secret to the Filipino people. It became evident to the public since Duterte resigned from being the secretary of the Department of Education and left the Marcos Cabinet. She claimed that her decision stemmed from both personal and work reasons.

Since the Vice President left the Marcos Cabinet, she has been throwing tirades against the Chief Executive. The Vice President also recently claimed that the Marcos Cabinet allegedly has no plan nor direction and she could attest to it citing that she was part of it.
Recently, the Office of the Vice President’s spokesperson, Atty. Ruth Castelo, claimed that the government not funding the programs of the OVP is allegedly a “great disservice to the country”. She stressed that the vice president is usually viewed as a “spare tire” but the VP should be as prepared as the president.

“But if you really think about it, the Vice President should be as prepared as the President. Should anything happen to him, who assumes the responsibility? It’s the Vice President,” Castelo said.
The OVP Spokesperson further claimed that whoever the vice president is, keeping her out of the loop or not supporting her is not serving the country. Recently, Malacañang gave a statement which is seemingly a response to the remarks of the spokesperson of Duterte’s office.

Based on a report on GMA News, Malacañang press officer undersecretary Claire Castro claimed that any valuable suggestion from the Office of the Vice President (OVP) is welcome. She stressed that the office of Pres. Bongbong Marcos is not closing its doors to Vice Pres. Sara Duterte.
”Para po on the part of the Palace, welcome po kung anuman po ang suhestiyon na makabuluhan, magandang suhestiyon na magmumula sa OVP. Hindi po ito tinatanggihan at hindi po sinasara ng Pangulo ang pintuan sa Bise Presidente,” the Malacañang official said.
Atty. Claire Castro also recalled that it was Vice Pres. Sara Duterte who refused to share her knowledge on how to achieve affordable rice with Pres. Bongbong Marcos. Based on the report, she stressed that it was the Vice President who does not want to help the President.
Recently, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte slammed Pres. Bongbong Marcos anew saying he’s full of politics. She’s also saddened by the government spending public funds for the witnesses in the case against her father, former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte.
