Usec. Claire Castro had this clarification for the recent issue involving FL Liza Marcos
Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary Claire Castro answered the alleged involvement of First Lady Liza Marcos in the death of Rustan’s heir Paolo Tantoco.
Reports stated that Tantoco died on March 8 in the US. At that time, FL Liza was also in the States as she supported the Manila International Film Festival.
Allegations surfaced that the First Lady was with Tantoco. A supposed death investigation document stated that FL Liza, together with actress Alexa Miro, were questioned by the authorities as they were allegedly Tantoco’s companions.
Based on the report from the LA County Medical Examiner, it was confirmed that the Rustan’s heir died from c0caine use.
“Companions of the victim were summoned to BHPD for questioning, which were Dinah Arroyo Tantoco, Liza Araneta Marcos, and Alexa Miro,” a portion of the unverified document stated.
Amid this issue, Senator Imee Marcos released a statement urging the Malacanang Palace to issue a comprehensive report on Paolo Tantoco’s death because FL Liza Marcos’s name is being dragged into this.
For the lawmaker, this issue should be addressed to clarify the alleged involvement of the First Lady.
In a report from Abante, the Palace answered this issue against FL Liza on July 17, through PCO Under Secretary Claire Castro. The Usec said that it is saddening that private people are being dragged into political issues and that they are being used by the obstructionists to destroy the First Lady, President Bongbong Marcos, and his administration.
“Nakakahiya ang kanilang mga ginagawa,” Castro said. She also stressed that Paolo Tantoco was not part of FL Liza Marcos’s entourage.
