Statement of Harry Roque for Sen. Imee Marcos
HARRY ROQUE – Duterte’s former Spokesman challenged Senator Imee Marcos to reveal the truth over the alleged drug use of President Bongbong Marcos.
Amid the controversial arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte, presidential sister and Sen. Imee Marcos sided with the Duterte family. She even launched a Senate investigation on the arrest and the transfer of the custody of the former President to the International Criminal Court (ICC).
Sen. Imee Marcos even recently went to The Hague, Netherlands where former Pres. Duterte is currently detained. She met with the lawyer of the former President and she also talked to the Filipinos outside the ICC detention facility.
Sen. Imee Marcos even expressed her hope that Pres. Bongbong Marcos, her brother, will hear their calls for the homecoming of Duterte. The President and the government were heavily-criticized over the arrest of the former Chief Executive.
Pres. Bongbong Marcos claimed that the government only acted on the arrest of Duterte in line with its commitment to the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol). Malacañang also defended Marcos Jr. from betrayal accusations saying the President only did his job.
Recently, Duterte’s former spokesman, Harry Roque, issued a statement for presidential sister and Sen. Imee Marcos. Based on a post on his social media account, the former Spox told the Senator that it is now her chance to prove to the Duterte supporters that she is really an ally of the Duterte family.
“Manang Imee, pagkakataon mo na itong patunayan sa mga DDS na talagang ikaw ay kakampi ng mga Duterte. Hindi ako naniniwala na hindi mo alam kung gumagamit ng ipinagbabawal na droga ang iyong kapatid,” Roque said.
Harry Roque also claimed that as the older sister of Pres. Bongbong Marcos, she allegedly know the history of her brother when it comes to the use of illegal drugs. He claimed that Marcos Jr. was allegedly previously reported to be purchasing the illegal substances for his friends when he was still in abroad.
“Eh alam niyo na, may duda na kayo na gumagamit siya at alam mo na kung ano ang mga hakbang na ginawa ng inyong mga magulang para nga masalba ang buhay ng iyong kapatid,” he said.
According to Harry Roque, it is now time for Sen. Imee Marcos to be true to the country. He claimed that the Filipino people will love her more if she will be the one to ask her brother to seek help and to let the leadership in the country to be handed to Vice Pres. Sara Duterte.
“Panahon na para ika’y maging tapat sa taong bayan. Mas lalo kang mamahalin ng taong bayan hindi lang dahil sa imbestigasyon na ginawa mo kung sasabihin mo ang katotohanan at ikaw na ang humingi sa iyong kapatid na magpagamot at ibigay na muna ang liderato ng bayan natin sa tao na walang karamdaman gaya ni VP Sara,” Duterte’s former Spox said.
Harry Roque also claimed that if Sen. Imee Marcos will do it, all the confusion of the Duterte supporters on her loyalty will be erased and she will be allegedly accepted in the country as a hero. Based on the post, he stressed that she really needs to break her silence.
Amid the 2025 Midterm Elections, the Filipino populace witnessed the strong ties of the Vice President and the Senator. Vice Pres. Sara Duterte even stressed that it is Sen. Imee Marcos who should bring former Pres. Duterte home to the Philippines.
