PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that three weather systems will bring rains over parts of the country.

On Friday (May 23, 2025), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. Three weather systems will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA weather specialist Grace Castañeda reported that the Intertropical Convergence Zone will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains over Mindanao, the Ridge of High-Pressure Area will be affecting extreme Northern Luzon, while the easterlies will affect the rest of the country.

The ITCZ will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Mindanao. Flash floods or landslides are possible due to moderate to heavy rains.

“Based on our latest analysis, this series of rainfall will continue over the next few days. So we advise our countrymen here in the Mindanao area to be more cautious as there is still a threat of flooding or landslides,” Castañeda said

The HPA’s ridge will bring partly cloudy skies over Batanes and Babuyan Islands.

The easterlies will bring fair weather conditions in Palawan and the rest of Visayas.

It will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of the country. Possible flash floods or landslides are expected during severe thunderstorms.

PAGASA reported that no typhoons or low-pressure areas are being monitored within or outside the Philippine area of responsibility.

Meanwhile, the coastal water conditions over Northern Luzon, Mindanao, and the rest of the country will be slight to moderate. No gale warning was raised over any of the country’s seaboard.
