Former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte Refused To Talk to Daughter Kitty
RODRIGO DUTERTE – Honeylet Avanceña revealed that the former President claimed he turns emotional when he is talking to their youngest daughter, Kitty Duterte.

Aside from Vice Pres. Sara Duterte who joined several campaign rallies and Davao Congressman Paolo Duterte who continuously endorse the PDP-Laban bets in interviews while he’s at The Hague, Honeylet Avanceña and Kitty Duterte also joined the campaign rallies of the PDP-Laban. Both of them also talked on-stage to call for the support of the Filipinos for the #Duter10.
According to Kitty Duterte, she joined the campaign rally because her father was taken away from her. Recently, at a campaign rally, Honeylet Avanceña shared a story when former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte refused to talk to their daughter over the phone as he is detained in The Hague.
According to Honeylet, former Pres. Duterte claimed that he gets emotional whenever he is talking with Kitty, thus, he refused to talk to their daughter. The long-time partner of the former President claimed that she’s really hurt for their daughter who wants to talk to her father but her heart also goes out for the former President who is alone in his detention abroad.
“Ako tinawagan ni former President… Kinokontrol ko ‘yung ano ka kasi ayaw niya ‘yung umiiyak, eh. Alam niya ako iyakin… Kwento kwento ko, ay si Kitty nag-text sinabihan ba naman ako ni Kitty na, ‘Ma, may importante ka bang sabihin kay Dada? Kasi kung wala ako na lang’. Ang sabi ng tatay niya sa akin, ‘Sabihan mo na lang si Kitty kasi na pagka-siya ang kausap ko, emosyonal ako’. Ganun, ayaw niya. So, ako, nasaktan ako kasi alam ko masasaktan ‘yung anak ko… Sabi niya, ‘Explain mo na lang kasi ako mag-isa lang ako dito pag siya ang kausap ko emotional ako,'” Duterte’s long-time partner said based on a post of SMNI on Facebook.
Honeylet Avanceña further shared that she was crying loud in a room when she explained it to Kitty Duterte knowing her daughter will be hurt. Meanwhile, it seems that former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte could not take not to call her youngest daughter as he did after a while.
According to Honeylet Avanceña, former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte is really close to their daughter Kitty. She admitted that she is strict to their daughter and a disciplinarian and when Kitty won’t get her way, she would turn to the former President for permission.
Amid the fervent campaign of the Duterte siblings and Honeylet Avanceña for the PDP-Laban candidates, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte called on the Filipinos not to vote for the bets of Pres. Bongbong Marcos in the May 2025 Elections.
