Janine Gutierrez had a devastating week
Kapamilya actress Janine Gutierrez spoke about losing two grandmothers within just a week.
Janine went through a tough time these past few days. His Mamita, Asia’s Queen of Song Pilita Corrales passed away on April 12. A few days after, news about the death of her Mama Guy, Superstar Nora Aunor, circulated online on April 16.
The actress received messages of sympathy because of this. Many celebriites also showed support for her.
Based on the article in ABS-CBN Entertainment, through Janine Gutierrez’s broadcast channel, she talked about losing two special women in her life.
Pilita is the mother of Janine’s father, Monching Gutierrez, while Nora is the mother of her mom, Lotlot de Leon.
“It’s the first time in 10 days that I’m not at a wake. This Holy Week, my siblings and I lost two lolas, mama and papa’s mothers,” she said.
She shared that they just got home about 4 of the afternoon on April 16 from her Mamita’s wake. Then, at 10 PM, her sibling had to call the chapel again to get another room for their Mama Guy.
Despite this difficult time in their family, Janine said that they are grateful for the love and support from the people.
Janine also shared her initial plan for the Holy Week. She planned to travel but she decided to stay home. The actress has already returned to work knowing that a lot of people will always remember the legacy of her grandmothers, and this comforted her.
“I think of my two new angels and how they always powered through. I think of how I can continuosly make them proud. It gives me comfort to know there are many of us who will always have them in our hearts. Thank you,” the actress said.
Meanwhile, as Janine Gutierrez was going through a tough time, actor Jericho Rosales was by her side, who recently confirmed at Pilita’s wake that he is the actress’s boyfriend.
