PAGASA Says LPA to Bring Rains Over Parts of PH

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that a low-pressure area will bring rains over parts of the country.

On Wednesday (March 26, 2025), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. A low-pressure area will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA weather specialist Rhea Torres reported that a low-pressure area will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains over Southern Mindanao and parts of the Visayas. The LPA is not expected to develop into a tropical cyclone.

“At present, we are monitoring a low-pressure area inside our Philippine area of responsibility,” Torres said.

The LPA was spotted at 645 kilometers east of Southeastern Mindanao. It will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Central Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Caraga, Davao Region, and Siquijor.

Even though the center of this low-pressure area is quite far, it’s still possible for it to bring rain to the eastern part of Visayas, and also to Mindanao,” Torres explained.

The easterlies will bring fair weather with chances of partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

The LPA will continue to bring overcast skies with rains in parts of the country as it draws near to the Philippine landmass within the next few days.

The weather agency has advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, as well as the remaining parts of the country will be slight to moderate, according to PAGASA. No gale warning was raised over any of the country’s seaboard.
