In an Instagram post, Sunshine Cruz reveals she has this condition.
Famous actress-model Sunshine Cruz revealed in a post that she has myasthenia gravis, an autoimmune condition.
Less than a week after her runway appearance at a fashion show for a famous clothing brand, actress Sunshine Cruz revealed that she was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease called myasthenia gravis. This condition made it difficult for her to build muscles, but during the event, she showed no signs of weakness or any symptoms that suggest she has this kind of condition.

In the show business, one of the celebrities fighting against autoimmune conditions is Kris Aquino. Kris has seven autoimmune diseases. She has autoimmune thyroiditis, chronic spontaneous urticaria, Churg-Strauss syndrome, systemic sclerosis, lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, and fibromyalgia.
For Cruz, her condition brought her struggles to build muscles, but amid this, she found a new strength. Her recent runway stint was a “powerful reminder” of the possible things that can occur amidst difficulties. A reminder to not give up.
“Walking for Bench was a powerful reminder of what’s possible even when things are tough. To all my fellow moms and Gen Xers, never give up on your dreams,” she said.

About myasthenia gravis
According to Johns Hopkins Medicine, this is “a chronic autoimmune disorder in which antibodies destroy the communication between nerves and muscle, resulting in weakness of the skeletal muscles.”
It accordingly affects the voluntary muscles, “especially those that control the eyes, mouth, throat, and limbs.”
This can affect anyone of any age but is more frequent in young women between 20 and 30, and men aged 50 and older. This is not inherited and also not contagious. There is no cure, but the symptoms can be controlled. Myasthenia gravis is a lifelong medical condition.
