Davao Mayor Baste Duterte Gives Strong Message vs. Pres. Bongbong Marcos
BASTE DUTERTE – The Davao City Mayor expressed a strong message for President Bongbong Marcos following the arrest and transfer of the custody of his father, former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte.
The arrest and transfer of of former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte to the custody of the International Criminal Court sparked an outcry among the Duterte supporters to return him back to the Philippines. The ICC has issued a warrant of arrest against Duterte over the allegations surrounding his war on drugs.

A week ago, former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte was arrested by the Philippine National Police authorities upon his arrival from Hong Kong. The Palace claimed that the government has to attend to the request of the Interpol for its commitment.
Duterte was flown to Dubai en route for the Hague, Netherlands on the same day. On Friday, former Pres. Duterte made his first appearance before the pre-trial chamber of the ICC.

Vice Pres. Sara Duterte has talked to former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte who wants her to come home to the Philippines. The Vice President flew to the Netherlands immediately the following day of her father’s arrest.
According to the Vice President, she is the only one who has a Schengen Visa in their family and everyone is still applying for the document. She expressed that she will just talk to the legal team of the former President and fly back home.

Davao City Mayor Baste Duterte and his younger sister, Veronica “Kitty” Duterte, have filed separate petitions before the Supreme Court asking it to order the return of their father. Recently, the Davao City Mayor spoke at the 88th Araw ng Dabaw.

Mayor Baste Duterte gave a strong remark againts Pres. Bongbong Marcos. The President earned a lot of criticisms for allowing the transfer of FPRRD to the custody of the ICC.
“I will take this opportunity to tell Mr. Marcos how I feel about him. Mr. President Marcos, you will never be loved, especially to us who are calling out Rody Duterte’s name. You will never be loved, Mr. Marcos,” Mayor Baste Duterte said.

The Davao City Mayor also expressed his prayer that Pres. Marcos will be able to finish his term as the chief executive of the country. According to him, they will “fight back” following the arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte which his family called “illegal”.
“We will stand up and we will fight back,” the Davao City Mayor said.
Pres. Bongbong Marcos released a statement after former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte’s flight for Dubai left the Philippines. He stressed that the arrest of the former President followed the legal process and the government only did its job.
