More Than 12 Riders Injured Due to Mud Spill at Kamuning Flyover
More than 12 motorcycle riders were injured after skidding on a mud-covered road at the Kamuning Flyover.
Around 1:30 AM on Tuesday (March 11, 2025), MMDA traffic enforcers reported that mud came from soil that spilled out of a dump truck. The slippery road caused multiple riders to lose control and crash in succession.
MMDA rescue teams arrived at the scene and provided first aid to the injured riders. Many of them suffered wounds and bruises, while their clothes were covered in mud.

One rider shared that she and her companion were thrown off their motorcycle after hitting the muddy section. She described how they slid about eight meters across the road. Though thankful to have survived, she admitted feeling traumatized by the accident.
Another rider explained that he was driving at 60 km/h when he noticed the car in front of him slowing down. When he tried to brake, his motorcycle skidded uncontrollably due to the thick mud. He described it as wet soil that had become extremely slippery.
One of the victims had just finished work and was on his way home when the accident happened. His mother rushed to the QCPD Traffic Sector 3 after receiving a call about her son. She recalled how she was initially confused by the unknown number calling her.
When she finally answered, she was told to stay calm and come see her son, who was struggling to breathe.
By 3:00 AM, the MMDA temporarily closed the northbound lane of the flyover, including the busway, leading to heavy traffic that stretched all the way to Cubao.
The truck driver explained that he was transporting soil from Pasig to Pampanga when the safety lock on the tailgate accidentally opened. He apologized for the inconvenience and injuries caused.
The driver is currently in the custody of QCPD Traffic Sector 3 while the investigation continues. He may face charges for Reckless Imprudence Resulting in Multiple Physical Injuries and Damage to Properties.
