PAGASA Says Amihan, Shear Line and Easterlies to Affect PH Weather

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that shear line and amihan will bring rains over parts of the country.

On Saturday (March 8, 2025), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The northeast monsoon and the shear line will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA weather specialist Grace Castañeda reported that the shear line will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms over Mainland Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, Quezon, and Camarines Norte.

The northeast monsoon will bring cloudy skies with light rains over the Batanes and Babuyan Islands.

Amihan will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over the Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and the rest of Cagayan Valley. The easterlies will affect the remaining parts of the country.

The weather agency has advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.

No weather disturbance is being monitored within and outside of the Philippine Area of Responsibility.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Northern and Central Luzon will be moderate to rough. The rest of the country will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions, according to PAGASA
