215 of 306 House members signed and supported the impeachment complaint against Vice President Sara Duterte. As much as we all know, the vice president is under scrutiny for alleged misuse of confidential funds.

Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez said, “This is about upholding the Constitution and ensuring that no public official, regardless of their position, is above the law.”

According to the statement from the House Secretary General, these are the cited allegations in the impeachment complaint against the vice president:

  • Conspiracy to Assassinate President Marcos, First Lady, and Speaker Romualdez
  • Malversation of P612.5 Million in Confidential Funds
  • Bribery and Corruption in DepEd
  • Unexplained Wealth and Failure to Disclose Assets
  • Involvement in Extrajudicial Killings (Davao Death Squad)
  • Destabilization, Insurrection, and Public Disorder

To recall, Duterte received a subpoena for apparently threatening the president’s life in a video. There were also allegations about her illegal disbursement of Php 612.5 million in confidential funds as head of the OVP and education secretary and alleged bribery of DepEd officials.

She also has supposed unexplained wealth and her role in the alleged destabilization of, sedition, and insurrection against the government. To recall, she skipped the 3rd SONA of Marcos, defended jailed preacher Apollo Quiboloy, and obstructed congressional probes by directing her subordinates to neglect subpoenas.

  • Rep. Ysabel Maria Zamora (San Juan, Lone District)
  • Rep. Lorenz Defensor (Iloilo, 3rd District)
  • Rep. Jonathan Keith Flores (Bukidnon, 2nd District)
