These lawmakers will serve as prosecutors in the impeachment of Sara Duterte. Here’s a list.
SARA DUTERTE IMPEACHMENT – These are the lawmakers who will make up the team of prosecutors for the impeachment of the vice president.
More than 200 members of the House of Representatives have signed the impeachment complaint against Vice President Sara Duterte. As the stage is set for a grueling trial, this could either result in her conviction or acquittal.

Last December 2024, the third impeachment complaint against the vice president was filed.
In a previous article, Duterte was asked about the impeachment complaints but she remained unfazed, confident that she did not break any law. She was confident that she did not do anything illegal amid questions about her offices’ spending of confidential funds.
215 House members signed the complaint which significantly exceeded the required one-third threshold of 102 votes
In accordance with Section 16, Rule 6 of the Rules of Procedures in Impeachment Proceedings, the following will serve as prosecutors in the impeachment trial:
- Rep. Gerville “JinkyBitrics” Luistro (Batangas, 2nd District)
- Rep. Romeo Acop (Antipolo, 2nd District)
- Rep. Ramon Rodrigo Gutierrez (1-Rider Partylist)
- Rep. Joel Chua (Manila, 3rd District)
- Rep. Rau Angelo “Jil” Bongalon (AKO Bicol)
- Rep. Loreto Acharon (General Santos, Lone District)
- Rep. Marcelino Libanan (4Ps Party-list)
- Rep. Arnan Panaligan (Oriental Mindoro, 1st District)
- Rep. Ysabel Maria Zamora (San Juan, Lone District)
- Rep. Lorenz Defensor (Iloilo, 3rd District)
- Rep. Jonathan Keith Flores (Bukidnon, 2nd District)
The prosecution team members have legal backgrounds and are members of the Philippine Bar. They will present evidence that will prove the allegations against the vice president. These allegations included betrayal of public trust, culpable violation of the Constitution, and graft and corruption.
If convicted, Duterte will be removed from office.
THREE COMPLAINTS FILED IN 2024
The first complaint was endorsed by Akbayan party-list Rep. Perci Cendaña, the second one was backed by theMakabayan bloc at the House, and third one came from priests and members of civil society groups.
