Supreme Court Associate Justice Mario Lopez announced that BAR Exam Results 2024 will be released at 12 noon Friday (December 12).
The Bar Exam Results 2024 are set to be released on Friday, December 12, 2024 at 12 noon, according to Supreme Court Associate Justice Mario Lopez. Justice Lopez, who heads this year’s Bar Examinations Committee.
Lopez shared updates on the process, ensuring a balanced and fair approach throughout the exam and evaluation stages.
“I’ve been telling the examinees even before the Bar exams, I told them that I will be very reasonable even in the corrections. I have also instructed the examiners to be reasonable with their corrections. And I can assure the examinees just like what I did with the examination questions, ang sabi ko sa kanila it is neither difficult or easy..”eksakto” lang ang questions that will test them,” he said.
The Justice Associate emphasized that fairness guided the preparation of the exam questions and the correction of answers. The questions focused on current issues and practical knowledge essential for legal practice, avoiding overly unclear or outdated topics.
He also pointed oout that the examiners were instructed to evaluate with reasonableness, aiming to test the competence of future lawyers effectively.
The Bar exams, held across 13 testing centers nationwide, took place on September 8, 11, and 15, 2024. Out of the 10,502 individuals who started the exams, 10,490 completed them, with some examinees dropping out during the process.
Before releasing the official results, a special en banc session will be held to finalize and validate the names of successful examinees. This session involves opening sealed envelopes containing the passers’ names, ensuring confidentiality and integrity in the process.

Justice Lopez expressed confidence that the results would reflect a reasonable standard, proposing to retain the traditional 75% passing rate, subject to the en banc’s approval.
“Sinabi ko na din sa mga Deans even to the students who will take the Bar na iiwasan natin ang mga klaseng questions (obscure questions) na ganyan na hindi mo na makikita sa libro o kaya kung saan-saan mo makikita or sa dissent mo makikita. Hindi ko po ginawa yan in fact all of the questions are mostly current issues and practical in character and things a lawyer to be should know,” he added.
Aspiring lawyers and their supporters eagerly await the results, which will be officially published by the Supreme Court Public Information Office.
