PAGASA Says Typhoon Julian and Easterlies to Affect PH Weather Condition

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that Typhoon Julian and the easterlies will bring rains over parts of the country.

On Thursday (October 3, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. Typhoon Julian and the easterlies will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA reported that Julian was last spotted 270 kilometers west-northwest of Itbayat, Batanes outside PAR. It has maximum sustained winds of 155 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 190 kph.

The typhoon will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains over extreme Northern Luzon. The easterlies will be affecting the eastern section of Mindanao.

Julian will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Batanes and Babuyan Islands. The typhoon’s trough will bring similar weather conditions over Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, the rest of Cagayan Valley, and Central Luzon.

The easterlies will bring the same weather conditions over the Davao Region, SOCCSKSARGEN, and Caraga.

The localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

The weather agency has advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.

The typhoon is expected to make landfall over southwestern Taiwan this morning or afternoon.

Julian is forecast to make landfall over southwestern Taiwan this morning or afternoon after entering the northwestern boundary of the Philippine Area of Responsibility,” Pagasa said.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over the northern seaboard of Northern Luzon will be rough. Central Luzon will have moderate to rough surrounding sea conditions. The rest of the country will have slight to moderate waters, according to PAGASA.
