PAGASA Says Typhoon Julian to Affect PH Weather Condition
PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that Typhoon Julian will bring violent winds and rains over parts of the country.
On Monday (September 30, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. Typhoon Julian will affect the country’s weather conditions.
PAGASA reported that Julian was last spotted 190 km east-northeast of Calayan, Cagayan, or 150 km east-southeast of Basco, Batanes. It has maximum sustained winds of 140 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 170 kph.
Typhoon Julian will bring possible torrential rains in Batanes, Babuyan, and Ilocos Norte. Intense rains are expected over Ilocos Sur, La Union, Abra, Apayao, Benguet, mainland Cagayan, while heavy rains are possible in Pangasinan, Zambales, Bataan, and the rest of Cordillera.
The typhoon’s extension will bring scattered rains over Metro Manila, CALABARZON, northern MIMAROPA, Camarines provinces, and the rest of Central Luzon.
The weather agency has raised Tropical Cyclone Wind Signals in the following areas:

“JULIAN is forecast to move generally west-northwestward over the Balintang Channel today and pass very close to Balintang Island and Batanes. A landfall scenario over these areas remains likely,” PAGASA said.
The weather disturbance is expected to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Thursday (October 3, 2024).
Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over the northern seaboard of Ilocos Norte, the northern seaboard of mainland Cagayan, and the remaining seaboard of Ilocos Norte will be rough.
Ilocos Sur, Isabela, the northern portion of Aurora, the remaining seaboard of Ilocos Region, remaining seaboard of Aurora, and northern and eastern seaboards of Polillo Islands, Central Luzon, and the eastern section of Southern Luzon, will have moderate to rough surrounding sea conditions.
The remaining parts of the country will have slight to moderate waters, according to PAGASA.
